WEEK 1: Tips on How to Save Money for Conserving Water

I know this isn't brain surgery, but a great reminder everyone once in awhile on how to conserve water. Here are some bathroom water conservation tips from the experts and of course my comments.

- Never use your toilet as a waste basket. Why not put a cute little waste can with a lid next to your toilet for all the nonsense??!

- Do not let the water run while shaving or brushing teeth. Unless you're like me and clean the sink at the same time you are brushing your teeth. Then it is ok.

- Take short showers instead of tub baths. Turn off the water flow while soaping or shampooing. When we are traveling in the motorhome and I only have a little water, you bet I will turn off the flow. Home is a tough one. I'd rather be quick!

- If you must use a tub, close the drain before turning on the water and fill the tub only half full. Bathe small children together. Half full? Wow, I am going with the shower then!

- Never pour water down the drain when there may be another use for it -such as watering a plant or garden. Now I hadn't ever though of this one. Unfortunately, all my plants are dead, so I will come up with another idea.
